Getting to the heart of it...

On my last trip to Los Angeles to do headshots I was given the privilege to shoot with Lee. We went through all the standard elements of getting a great headshot. We shot killer commercial and theatrical headshots and then got the my favorite part, developing characters. As we were wrapping up the shoot I picked up a black shirt that was lying there and mentions we should shoot it and get more of an edgier character. To which he replied "thats for a priest look and I also have the white collar." This was going to be awesome. So we got to photographing the priest:

Now this is the thing I love about what I do. You can see we portray two very different characters. First we have a warm and friendly priest; then with just a few subtle changes with my lighting and working with Lee to draw out different elements of character, the priest then becomes the villain of the horror movie Silver Bullet. This is what makes a great headshot. Thanks again Lee for choosing IMAGE to work with you for something so important in your career. It is such a huge honor my friend.

Hope you all enjoy-

Powerful words...

I have been watching the career of Peter Hurley for years now. He has been a huge inspiration to me as a photographer as well as a good human being. He has an infectious attitude that has always made me strive to grow and be happy at the same time. This new video was simply amazing so I had to share it. Enjoy... I know I did.

Lifestyle Portraits

One of the latest things I have been shooting a lot of has been series of Lifestyle Portraits. My clients have been using the IMAGES in all their social media, like Facebook, Linkedin, Google +, among assorted dating sites which is a fabulous idea if you ask me. What I have really loved about it though is the inspiration it is giving me for all my publicity and acting headshots that I have done for years. The more I photograph people, the more I simply love the human spirit. Thank you to all my amazing clients, you have no idea how humble I feel that you pick me to bring your IMAGE to life.

One of my favorite Headshot session...

In a changing time when your IMAGE as an actor has become more important than ever, it's incredibly important I think to try and stay one or two steps ahead of the game. That being said the process for how I have been creating Headshots for the my clients in LA, Salt Lake City and Park City continues to evolve. I use to love the phrase it was the essence of the actor that we should capture to help sell them... However as of late that has started to mean something very different to me. It's no longer just the blank slate or the white wall of the actor that a great headshot should represent, but rather a look at their depth, what and who they are as talent. The days of the one goto headshot are coming to an end and so it's with great pleasure I am sharing some of my favorite shots from Krystal's shoot... There is a body of work here showing what she can and will be great at. Enjoy ! :)

If you are in need some some new headshots or just want something cool as a portrait for all your social media, we are now booking spots for Aug.

From my Latest Shoot with PodGoblin, The Deviant Cook and Ghost Investigators Society's Brendan C.

As most of you know already I spend a lot of my time behind the camera doing headshots for up and coming actors in LA and Salt Lake City, and truth be told I love doing it. I love inspiring actors to take their game to next level by working with them and helping them get a great headshot. However it's shoots like this one with Brendan that I also really love. When it comes to shooting Publicity Photos, especially for someone as cool as Brendan, there are no rules we have to follow. We just work the mojo until the magic comes alive. That's exactly what happened with this shoot. It's not always easy to be the one having your photo taken, but I am pretty confident Brendan is as excited about the outcome as I am. I want to thank Brendan and the rest of the PodGoblins, it's always a pleasure to work with you crazy kids. You can hear more from them at www.podgoblin.com... Oh and Kenny... your next :)

Enjoy,

The lovely Gretchen is back for more fun...

I am not sure there are many people out there that get to have a former Miss USA and local TV talk show host as one of your best friends, but luckily I am one of those people. I have been Gretchen Jensen's personal photographer for over five years now and I have to say the more we shoot the better it gets... Please don't day this comment as an age thing my dear Gretch... but our work together truly is like an exquisite fine wine that gets better and better with time. Without any doubts you are and will always be one of my all time Favs...

The amazing make up was created by one of my other Favs.. Missy you are a genius my dear.

Enjoy Everyone... :)
